Being Energetic, Staying Healthy and Feeling Happy

With a fitness class offered in-house three days a week and special offerings such as chair yoga, balance class and contra dance, the Village makes it easy to keep moving.

We are within walking distance to the state-of-the-art Boothbay Region YMCA where residents take advantage of opportunities to maintain and improve health in a friendly and encouraging environment.

Walk the Walk

No matter what age, walking helps keep us all fit and healthy, benefiting our minds and mental well-being.

The Village campus has paved sidewalks that flow in-and-around beautiful evergreens, chestnuts and maples. Abutting our campus is Penny Lake Preserve, a freshwater wetland with adjoining woodlands and open field. At the neck of the lake there is an ADA handicap accessible trail, appropriate for wheelchairs and strollers, which crosses a wooden bridge with bench seats. An abundant variety of wildlife may be viewed, including migratory and nesting birds, turtles, beaver, deer, and even an occasional moose!  Numerous plants thrive in this varied natural habitat, from wildflowers to cattails and from hardwood trees to evergreens. Additionally, there are fantastic walking trails managed and maintained by the Boothbay Region Land Trust.

The region offers plenty of other outdoor activities, including kayaking, fishing and golf. Seasonal outings to golf courses, beaches, boat cruises or fall foliage excursions keep our members connected to the natural beauty of coastal Maine.
