As a member of the St. Andrews Hospital and Healthcare Center family of services, we take providing high quality services very seriously. St. Andrews Hospital has a long-standing practice of measuring customer satisfaction using an independent survey agency (AVATAR) to conduct periodic surveys.
In 2003, The Gregory Wing nursing facility at St. Andrews Village, New England's premiere retirement community, became one of the first nursing facilities in Maine to embrace AVATAR for quarterly monitoring of resident and family satisfaction with nursing facility services.
During the summer of 2006, St. Andrews Village Retirement Community contracted with Life Services Network (LSN) to conduct customer satisfaction monitoring for independent living and assisted living residents and their families. This step resulted in St. Andrews Village becoming one of the first full-service senior living facilities in Maine with a comprehensive system in place for measuring customer satisfaction.
The Nation's not-for-profit long-term care providers are on a mission. Their objective: to provide the highest quality and most compassionate care to the residents they serve. The good news for seniors, their families, and the entire long-term-care file is that they are succeeding.
At a time when long-term care is under intense scrutiny, not-for-profit providers are showing that there is a difference when it comes to quality. By consistently providing more hands-on care and developing new, more creative ways to meet the needs of their residents, not for profits are setting the standard for quality in the field.
The latest government statistics reaffirm the not-for-profit difference. According to the most recent figures based on the Centers for Medicare Services (CMS), not-for-profit nursing homes:
